I thought it would be fun to add some Valentine's Day decor to my home! I didn't have much to decorate with so I made this Valentine's Day flag banner out of some supplies I already had. Best part of it....you don't need to know how to sew!
If you are spelling out the word "LOVE", cut out 6 triangles out of your desired fabric. I cut mine 5 inches wide by 5.5 inches long. I measured my first triangle and cut it out...I then used it as a guide to cut out the remaining triangles.
I then created a loop on the back of each flag to thread the jute string through when I was finished. I folded over the top of each flag about 1/2 inch and hot glued it down. I only put a dot of glue on each end and in the middle to hold the fabric down. You want to make sure there is enough space in the middle to thread the jute through.
After I created the loop, I cut off the extra fabric on each side of the triangle.
I then cut out 4 triangles out of the burlap. I cut mine a little bit smaller than the fabric triangles....3 inches wide by 3.5 inches long.
Hot glue each burlap triangle on top of the larger fabric triangles.
Hot glue on your die cut letters to spell out "LOVE". I decided to paint the letter "O" as a heart instead of using a die cut letter. I used red paint to paint the heart on one of the burlap triangles.
Once the red heart was dried, I threaded on each flag onto the jute string. I started with a solid fabric flag first then threaded on the "E" flag, "V" flag, "heart" flag, "L" flag, and the last solid flag.
That's it! Now you can hang it wherever your HEART desires! I hung mine over a mirror in my living room. It would look great on your fireplace mantel or at a Valentine's Day party too!
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
