Ok, do you agree the "Frozen Frenzy" is getting a little ridiculous? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the movie, but who knew the movie would be this BIG!? My girls absolutely adore the movie and characters...especially Anna in my household :). So when my daughter asked for a Frozen party for her 5th birthday I wasn't surprised. What I was surprised about was how hard it was to find Frozen items for the party...without breaking the bank!
For favors, I wrapped up Frozen fruit snacks (from Walmart) and an Elsa and Anna bottle cap necklace. I found the necklaces on Ebay for about $1 each! For a craft, the girls decorated a winter princess crown. I found these adorable crowns on Oriental Trading. I recently searched for them on their site and couldn't find them anymore :(.
I tried to make the decorations simple t0 stay within my budget. For the table centerpiece, I printed photos of Anna & Elsa and placed them in vases of sugar. I purchased the Anna & Elsa tableware and the purple chevron table runner from Oriental Trading. I made a flag banner from scrapbook paper to hang on the dessert table. I used a FREE Frozen cupcake topper printable found here. I also used it to decorate the banner. The large glitter snowflake I hung above the table was from Oriental Trading as well.
We served "Sven's Carrots", "Olaf Mix" (marshmallows, pretzel sticks, chocolate chips, & orange Tic Tacs), "Melted Snow Punch" (Blue Raspberry Kool Aid), and "Snow Queen Cones"! I found the Old Fashion Snow Cone machine from Target.com. It was perfect for a smaller party! I also made my own snow cone syrup for the party...click here for the recipe I used.
The girls enjoyed their chocolate cupcakes and cooled down with their snow cones! I went cheap this year and used a box chocolate cupcake mix and frosting from a container! I did add fun sugar crystal sprinkles!
A friend of mine was nice enough to let me borrow the Elsa & Anna cutout (I told her she should rent them out!). My daughter insisted on dressing up as Anna for her party. I was lucky to find this dress up dress on Amazon for $19.99. She is also wearing a Frozen chunky bead necklace from Love Blooms Here. They have the most adorable chunky bead necklaces...check them out!
I almost forgot...the door sign! How could I not put "Love is an Open Door" on the actual front door?! :)
